The first three days of the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) are almost over. There have been over 30,000 checklists submitted, 3,000,000 individual birds counted, and 531 species identified. There have been 109 species identified in Indiana so far. Texas has reported the most species of any state with 291 species; only two other states even have 200 species.

Very nice photos Eric. Cedar Waxwings always look so dapper but the White-throated Sparrow and the Slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco against the snow are magnificent!
The GBBC sounds like an excellent way to get some species and bird totals for all the different areas. All lovely photos but the Junco on the snow is spectacular.
such a clean shot, great stuff! The juncos never sit still for me! I love the snow perch :)
great shots!
We have the waxwing but not the white throated sparrow. :)
