Hudsonian Godwit at Eagle Creek Park

Just as I was about to leave work, a friend called to let me know that he had just found a Hudsonian Godwit at Eagle Creek. So I headed straight from work to pick up Eric and then we went to Eagle Creek to see if we could find the bird. After walking a long way down the Coffer Dam, we found the godwit! It was kind of far away but Eric managed to get this shot of the bird.

I attempted to do a little digiscoping and this was the best photo I got of the godwit with my phone and scope.

My digiscoped photo of the bird.
In addition to the godwit, there were two Black Terns flying around the area and one Buff-breasted Sandpiper was one the mudflats. We quickly checked the Skating Pond for warblers but there was not much moving in the middle of the afternoon.

Both are good pictures for such a cloudy day. I never have luck digiscoping with my phone. You probably have a smart phone. Mine is pretty stupid.

Lisa - This was with a smart phone but I still have a long way to do to figure out the best way to make it work!

I was expecting a CUSA/loch ness type of photo. This is much better! Nice job.

Thanks Amy! This bird was much closer than the CUSA.
