With the current invasion of Red-breasted Nuthatches from the north, I figured it was only a matter of time until one showed up at the feeders. Nevertheless, I was excited to see the first one show up and feed alongside a White-breasted Nuthatch. After putting out a little extra food, I only had to sit on the porch for a few minutes before the RBN came back and allowed me to get a few pictures!
Over the last couple days we have also had a Purple Finch visit the feeders and 15+ Ruby-throated Hummingbirds feeding at the hummer feeders. We've also been lucky enough to catch a few other passerine migrants in the yard including 5 species of warblers, Veery (our 162nd yard bird), Red-headed Woodpecker, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Good luck finding migrants in your yard!

I've never had a nuthatch at my feeders, but I'm hopeful this year! I actually saw red-breasted nuthatches in the city about 40 miles north last weekend, so I have my fingers crossed that they'll make their way down here. I hope you see many more!
Good luck, Melissa! With this big invasion you should have as good a chance as ever.
